How does the Behavior Change System work?

Choose a behavior you want to encourage, such as completing homework, going to bed on time, following directions, finishing a routine, or practicing self-care. When the behavior happens, give the user a ring right away. The ring becomes a visual reminder of progress. Once enough rings are earned, they can be traded for a reward you choose together.

Are Behavior Rings safe for children?

Yes. Behavior Rings are made from durable, non-toxic plastic with smooth, rounded edges and are approximately 1.5 inches in diameter. Behavior Rings are not recommended for children under age 5.

Can I use Behavior Rings for more than one child or a group?

Yes. Behavior Rings come in different colors, so each child or user can have their own color. This makes it easier for parents, teachers, caregivers, or group leaders to manage more than one person at a time. A Variety Pack is a great option for families, classrooms, daycares, or group settings.

The Behavior Change System was created by Scott A. DeWeese, BS, MSW, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in behavioral healthcare. Scott holds advanced degrees in Human Development and Family Studies and Social Work from the University of Illinois. He built this system because he believed parents deserved something simpler, something that actually worked in real life. He used the system with his own children, with great results.
